The First 2023 Exploring Suwon for international students

On Saturday, June 3, the ‘2023 Suwon International Student Regional Understanding Program’ was held, hosted by the Suwon International Exchange Center. New international students from universities in the Suwon area and 17 members of the Suwon City Public Diplomacy Corps (SCVA) participated in this event. Programs were prepared under five themes, including ‘The Beauty of Suwon’, ‘Colors of Suwon’, ‘Traditions of Suwon’, ‘Sounds of Suwon’, and ‘Filial Piety of Suwon’. It was conducted in a participatory manner.

It was a meaningful activity for both international students and SCVA members as they experienced Korean culture divided into five themes, including an ice-breaking session prepared by SCVA members.

2nd International Student Regional Understanding Program - We are Suwon in(人) with KT Wiz

On Saturday, August 30th, a program was held with KT Wiz for 30 foreigners living in the Suwon.

We planned an event at Suwon KT Wiz Park. Through ice breaking events prepared by members of SCVA, they introduced the history of Korean baseball, the history and characteristics of each team, and famous Korean baseball players. Unfortunately, the stadium tour and learning about cheering program were canceled due to rain, so I was unable to see the baseball game in person. However, it was a meaningful time through the opportunity to meet with foreigners living in the Suwon.

제 1회차 유학생 지역이해 프로그램

지난 6월 3일 토요일, 수원시국제교류센터가 주최한 ‘2023 수원시 유학생 지역이해 프로그램’이 개최되었습니다. 수원권 대학교의 외국인 신입 유학생들과 수원시 공공외교단(SCVA) 17명이 이 행사에 참여했는데요. ‘수원의 미’, ‘수원의 빛깔’, ‘수원의 전통’, ‘수원의 소리’, ‘수원의 효’까지 5가지의 테마별로 프로그램이 준비되었고, 유학생들이 사전에 신청한 테마의 프로그램에 참여하는 방식으로 진행되었습니다.

SCVA 단원들이 직접 준비한 아이스브레이킹 시간을 포함하여 5가지의 테마로 나뉘어 한국의 문화를 체험하면서 유학생들에게도 SCVA 단원들에게도 뜻깊은 시간이 되었던 활동이었습니다.

제 2회차 유학생 지역이해 프로그램 - KT Wiz 와 함께하는 우리는 수원 in(人) 

지난 8월 30일 토요일, 수원권에 거주하는 외국인 30명을 대상으로 kt wiz와 함께

수원 kt wiz파크에서의 행사를 기획했습니다. 수원시 공공외교단(SCVA) 단원들이 직접 준비한 아이스 브레이킹을 통해 한국 야구 역사 소개, 구단별 역사 및 특징 소개, 한국의 유명한 야구선수 등을 소개했습니다. 구장 투어 및 응원법 배우기 프로그램이 우천으로 인해 취소되어 야구 경기를 직접 보지 못해 아쉬움이 남는 행사였습니다.

하지만 수원권 거주 외국인들과 함께 만나는 기회를 통해 의미 있는 시간이었습니다.
