Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival with Suwon City's international sister cities
On October 8, the 60th Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival was held, and performers from Suwon City's international sister cities performed. I was in charge of the German team as a supporter. I could feel the unique charm of each country at the performances of Jinan in China, Hai Duong in Vietnam, Bandung in Indonesia, and Freiburg in Germany.
The performance group of Jinan performed traditional Chinese opera and high-level acrobatic performances. The performance group in Bandung showed its dynamic movements by performing traditional dances of the Indonesian minority "Sunda". The performance group of Hai Duong expressed Vietnam's beauty by performing Vietnamese folk dances. The show team Matrix from Freiburg showed a high-quality performance that it was named the Freiburg Team of the Year four times. The show team Matrix made the dance performance by mixing gymnastics and modern dance under the theme of Goethe's "Prometheus" and "Dream". The performance captivated audiences.
The show team Matrix not only performed at the Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival, but also had time to actively experience the festival. I visited Hwaseong Haenggung Palace and Haenggung Square with them to help the German team experience Korean culture. I was able to communicate, form a consensus, and get close through culture. Through this opportunity, I felt the importance of sister cities in diplomatic relations. It was a meaningful experience to help the German team finish the performance successfully and to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries.
수원시 자매도시들과 함께 한 수원 화성문화제
10월 8일, 제60회 수원 화성문화제가 열렸으며, 수원시의 국제자매·우호 도시의 공연단이 공연을 선보였다. 국제자매 도시 예술단 초청공연 서포터즈로서 독일 담당을 맡아 활동했다. 중국 지난시, 베트남 하이즈엉성, 인도네시아 반둥시, 독일 프라이부르크시의 공연에서 각국 고유의 매력을 잘 느낄 수 있었다.
중국 지난시의 공연단은 중국 전통 경극과 고난도의 곡예 공연을 선보였다. 인도네시아 반둥시의 공연단은 인도네시아 소수민족 ‘순다족’의 전통 무용을 추며 역동적인 동작을 뽐냈다. 베트남 하이즈엉성 공연단은 베트남의 민속춤을 추며 베트남의 아름다움을 표현했다.
독일 프라이부르크시에서 온 쇼팀 메트릭스는 ‘프라이부르크 올해의 팀’에 4번 선정되었을 만큼 수준 높은 공연을 보여주었다. 쇼팀 매트릭스는 괴테의 ‘프로메테우스’와 ‘꿈’을 주제로 체조와 현대무용을 섞어 무대를 구성하여, 보는 이들을 감탄하게 했다.
독일의 쇼팀 매트릭스는 수원 화성문화제에서 공연했을 뿐만 아니라 적극적으로 문화제를 경험하는 시간을 가졌다. 함께 화성행궁과 행궁 광장을 방문하며 독일팀이 한국의 문화를 경험할 수 있도록 도왔다. 문화를 매개로 대화를 하고 공감대를 형성하며, 가까워질 수 있었다. 이번 기회를 통해 외교 관계에 있어 자매 도시의 중요성을 체감할 수 있었다. 서포터즈 활동을 하며 독일팀이 성공리에 공연을 마칠 수 있도록 돕고 양국의 문화교류를 진행할 수 있어 의미 있는 경험을 했다.
