The 3rd SWCIC ‘Suone’ Day! Learning and Enjoying Korean history!






On August 14th, 2021, celebrating 8.15 Korean Independence Day (Gwangbokjeol), our volunteering program was successfully completed
by Suwon Center for International Cooperation (SWCIC) with foreign residents.

The National Liberation Day of Korea is a holiday celebrated annually on 15 August in Korea.
It commemorates Victory over Japan Day when at the end of World War II, the U.S. and allied forces helped end 35 years of Japanese occupation and colonial rule of Korea that lasted from 1910–1945.

This event is designed to introduce Korean history to foreigners living in Suwon City.
Each of us had time to learn about Korean history by solving a Golden Bell quiz.  

At first, our SCVA members had time to explain about Korean Independence Day (Gwangbokjeol) and An Jung-Geun Kit,
which was sent to all participants of this activity.





In the Golden Bell Quiz, There were 20 questions about Korean history and 5 Bonus questions. 
The event was held online, but it was a great opportunity for foreign residents to get to know about Korean history.
At the end of the Golden Bell quiz, we selected the 4 winners with high scores.

SCVA members and participants had a memorable time and took a photo together!





제목: “역사 골든벨 – 한국의 역사를 알아가는” 행사


지난 14일, 수원시 국제교류센터와 외국인 주민들이 함께하는 지역사회활동 ‘역사 골든벨 – 한국의 역사를 알아가는’ 온라인 행사가 진행되었다.

광복절(光復節)은 한반도가 일본 제국으로부터 해방된 것을 기념하는 날로, 대한민국에서는 이를 국경일 및 공휴일로 법제화함으로써 매년 양력 8월 15일에 기념하고 있다. 해방년도인 1945년을 광복절 원년으로 계산한다.

본 행사는 수원시에 거주하는 외국인들에게 한국사를 소개하기 위해 기획되었으며, 외국인 참가자들은 골든벨 퀴즈를 풀면서 한국사를 배우는 시간을 가졌다.
골든벨 퀴즈 시작하기전 SCVA 멤버들은 이 활동의 각 참가자한테 보낸 광복절 안중근 소포세트에 대해 설명하고 본격적으로 프로그램을 이어나갔다.

골든벨 퀴즈는 총 20개의 한국사 문제와 보너스 5문제로 진행이 되었으며, 
비대면행사로 진행되어 참가자들은 집에서 안전하게 사회적 거리를 유지하며 참여할 수 있었다.

제일 높은 점수 받은 골든벨 우승자 4명에게 상장이 주어졌으며,
한 수상자 참가자는 '한국의 역사를 알 수 있던 뜻깊은 시간이었다'며 이런 행사를 기획해준 SCVA와 수원시 국제교류센터에 고맙다고 수상소감을 말했다.

이번 행사는 관내 외국인들이 광복절의 의미를 되새길 수 있는 뜻깊은 시간이 되었고, SCVA멤버들과 참가자들이 함께 기념사진을 찍고 즐거운 시간을 보냈다.
