The 2nd SWCIC ¡®Suone¡¯ Day!
"Upcycling, Small Steps For a Better Planet"
On July 3rd, 2021, celebrating International Plastic Bag Free Day,
our ¡®Upcycling¡¯ volunteering program was successfully completedby Suwon Center for International Cooperation(SWCIC) with foreign residents.
At our homes, We all met online to put daily life SDGs goals into action!
This event is designed to introduce the activity called ¡®Upcycling¡¯ and teach the programs so that we all can easily practice at our homes.
The event was made into three programs: making plastic air fresheners, making eco-friendly soaps, and making hanging planters.
The program started off by introducing the main theme ¡®Upcycling¡¯,
along with the environmental issues occurring around the world, raising awareness.
Upcycling is transforming an unwanted item into something different and better for reuse.
This activity is easy to follow and mostly vital for protecting the environment.
The SCVA members each took part in explaining the three upcycling kits step by step.
Thankfully, all the foreign residents were able to follow easily.
Even though the event was held online,
it was a great opportunity for foreign residents to get to know about upcycling and have a chance to take part in protecting the environment.
SCVA members also had a memorable time and felt proud of their successful work.
