2024 Suwon City Regional Understanding Program with International Students Ends with Success
On May 18, 2024, the "2024 Suwon International
Student Regional Understanding Program" was successfully held at the
Paldal Cultural Center in Suwon City with SCVA members and international
students of various nationalities. The program was divided into four themes:
Suwon's art, Suwon's scent, Suwon's tradition, and Suwon's style and taste. And
40 international students attended each theme to have a variety of cultural
experiences.
The event began with a time when international students and SCVA members
gathered at the Paldal Culture Center to present tips on Suwon. Through this
time, participants were able to enhance their understanding of Suwon and get to
know each other through ice-breaking sessions. International students had a
precious time to understand different cultures and make new friends.
After the event, participants were divided into different themes and carried
out various activities. Among them, the activities of the Suwon Tradition team
were particularly eye-catching. The team had the opportunity to learn the
history and traditions of Suwon in depth through a tour of the Hwaseong
Haenggung Palace. With the guidance of a commentator in charge of Hwaseong
Haenggung Palace, we went around the main places of Hwaseong Haenggung Palace
to appreciate the historical stories and the beauty of its architecture.
During lunch time, we tasted Jeongjo noodle and potato pancakes that King
Jeongjo enjoyed eating at 'Susuhangan' restaurant in Haenggung-dong.
International students were able to experience traditional Korean food
firsthand and feel the taste and style of Korea. This was not just a mealtime,
but a special time to understand Korean culture more deeply.
After eating, we moved to the Suwon Traditional Culture Center to learn
traditional etiquette and tea ceremony. International students were able to
learn the traditional etiquette of bowing while wearing hanbok and feel the
emotions of Korea by tasting traditional tea and refreshments. These
experiences provided valuable opportunities for international students to get
closer to Korean culture.
Lastly, Jeongjo's Korean paper lantern making experience was very popular with
international students. Participants had time to design and assemble Korean
paper lanterns using Korean paper. Through this, they became acquainted with
Korean paper and expressed their creativity. The finished Korean paper lanterns
became works of their own individuality and creativity, giving great
satisfaction to the participants.
After making Korean paper lanterns, the 2024 Suwon City International Student
Regional Understanding Program was successfully completed. Through this
program, international students had a valuable opportunity to directly learn
and experience Korean history, culture, and traditions. We look forward to
continuous exchanges and development between SCVA and international students in
the future.
유학생과 함께하는 2024 수원시 지역이해 프로그램, 성황리에 마무리
지난 2024년 5월 18일, 수원시 팔달문화 센터에서 SCVA 부원들과 다양한 국적의 유학생들이 함께하는 "2024 수원시 유학생 지역이해 프로그램"이 성공적으로 개최되었다. 이번 프로그램은 수원의 예술, 수원의 향기, 수원의 전통, 수원의 멋과 맛이라는 네 가지 테마로 나뉘어 진행되었으며, 각 테마별로 40명의 유학생들이 참석해 다채로운 문화 체험의 시간을 가졌다.
행사는 팔달문화 센터에서 유학생들과 SCVA 부원들이 모여 수원 꿀팁을 발표하는 시간으로 시작되었다. 이 시간을 통해 참가자들은 수원에 대한 이해를 높일 수 있었으며, 아이스브레이킹 시간을 통해 서로 친해지는 기회를 가졌다. 유학생들은 서로 다른 문화를 이해하고 새로운 친구를 사귀는 소중한 시간을 보냈다.
행사 후 참가자들은 각 테마별로 나뉘어 다양한 활동을 진행하였다. 그 중에서도 '수원의 전통' 팀의 활동은 특히 눈길을 끌었다. 이 팀은 화성행궁 탐방을 통해 수원의 역사와 전통을 깊이 있게 배울 수 있는 기회를 가졌다. 화성행궁 담당 해설가의 안내를 받아 화성행궁의 주요 장소를 돌아다니며 그곳에 얽힌 역사적인 이야기와 건축물의 아름다움을 감상하였다.
점심시간에는 행궁동의 '수수한가'에서 정조대왕이 즐겨 드셨다는 정조국수와 감자전을 맛보았다. 유학생들은 한국 전통 음식을 직접 경험하며 한국의 맛과 멋을 느낄 수 있었다. 이는 단순한 식사 시간이 아닌, 한국 문화를 더 깊이 이해할 수 있는 특별한 시간이 되었다.
식사 후에는 수원전통문화관으로 이동하여 전통예절과 다도를 배우는 시간을 가졌다. 유학생들은 한복을 입어보며 전통 예절인 절을 배우고, 한국의 전통 차와 다과를 맛보며 한국의 정서를 느낄 수 있었다. 이러한 체험은 유학생들에게 한국 문화를 더 가까이에서 접할 수 있는 소중한 기회를 제공하였다.
마지막으로 진행된 정조동행 한지등 만들기 체험은 유학생들에게 큰 인기를 끌었다. 참가자들은 한국의 전통 종이인 한지를 사용하여 직접 한지등을 디자인하고 조립하는 시간을 가졌다. 이를 통해 한지와 친해지고 자신의 창의성을 발휘할 수 있었다. 완성된 한지등은 각자의 개성과 창의성이 담긴 작품이 되어 참가자들에게 큰 만족감을 주었다.
정조동행 한지등 만들기를 끝으로 2024 수원시 유학생 지역이해 프로그램은 성공적으로 마무리되었다. 이번 프로그램을 통해 유학생들은 한국의 역사와 문화, 전통을 직접적으로 배우고 체험할 수 있는 소중한 기회를 가졌다. 앞으로도 SCVA와 유학생들 사이의 지속적인 교류와 발전을 기대해 본다.
