2023 The Night for International Sister Cities

The Invitational Art Performance by the dance teams from Suwon’s International sister Cities, hosted by the Suwon Center for International Cooperation from 7th of October to 9th of October at the Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival, completed successfully. This year, four teams invited amongst international sister cities of Suwon, namely Jinan China, Hai Duong Vietnam, Bandung Indonesia, and Freiburg Germany, showcased an outstanding performance.

The main performance was held on Haenggung Palace Square stage from 3 PM on the 8th of October. The art performance team of Jinan, China showcased a composite art performance composed of traditional music, circus, and dance. Meanwhile, the art performance team of Sunda of Padjadjaran University, ‘Lises Unpad’, showcased the Sunda tradition dance, which is one of the cultural heritages of Indonesia. The Cultural Center of Hai Duong Vietnam showcased the folk dances of Vietnamese ethnic groups located in the northern plain and southern hillside of Vietnam. On contrary, the Showteam Matrix of Freiburg Germany showcased quite a creditable performance composed of circus, art gymnastics, and dance. On the 9th, a street performance was held near Jangan mun Gate. Following the King Jeongjo's Royal Parade and passing through the Hanok Technology Exhibition Hall, Sinjin plaza, and Yeomingak, the art performance teams showed a high level performance to the crowd; the crowd responded with applause and cheers as they enjoyed the performance.

This Invitation Art Performance by the dance teams not only strengthened the connection between the Suwon City and its international sister and frienship cities but also provided an opportunity for Suwon and Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival to raise their stature. It also gave the citizens a chance to experience and enjoy the diverse performance showcased by teams from many different countries.

2023 국제자매도시의 밤

지난 10월 7일부터 9일까지 개최된 수원화성문화제에서 수원시국제교류센터가 주관한 수원 국제자매도시 예술단 초청 공연이 성황리에 마무리되었다. 올해는 수원시의 국제자매도시 중에서 초청된 중국 지난시, 베트남 하이즈엉성, 인도네시아 반둥시, 독일 프라이부르크시의 총 4개 팀이 공연을 펼쳤다.

본공연은 8일 오후 3시부터 행궁광장 무대에서 진행되었다. 중국 지난시의 지난시 수원예술교류단은 민악, 곡예, 무용이 결합된 종합예술 공연을, 인도네시아 반둥의 파자자란 대학교 순다 예술팀 ‘Lises Unpad’는 인도네시아의 문화유산 중 하나인 순다 전통 춤을, 베트남 하이즈엉성의 하이즈엉성문화예술센터팀은 베트남 북부 평야 민족과 남서부 고지대 소수민족의 민속춤을, 독일 프라이부르크의 쇼팀 매트릭스는 곡예, 예술 체조, 춤을 결합한 수준 높은 공연을 선보였다. 9일에는 장안문 일대에서 거리공연이 진행되었다. 예술단은 정조대왕능행차 사전행렬을 따라 한옥기술전시관 - 신진프라자 앞 – 여민각을 지나며 아름다운 퍼포먼스를 보여주었다. 박수와 환호를 보내며 공연을 즐기는 시민들의 모습을 볼 수 있었다.

이 예술단 초청 공연은 수원시와 국제자매·우호도시의 교류를 강화할 뿐만 아니라 수원과 수원화성문화제의 국제적 위상을 높이는 기회가 되었다. 시민들 또한 여러 나라의 다채로운 공연을 즐길 수 있었다.
