On Saturday, September 16, 2023, the Suwon International Exchange Center will host the 3rd Suwon City Foreigner Regional Understanding Program, "We Are in Suwon – Making Tteok"

Participants who apply for the program will learn about the Korean holiday (Chuseok) at the Suwon Traditional Culture Center, and experience rice cake making (kkotsanbyeong, kkorijeolpyeon, baramtteok, etc.) and traditional games (ttakjichigi, tuho, gonggi, jegichagi).

Through the following experiences, we would like to improve the understanding of the Korean holiday culture of foreigners living in Suwon and actively support foreigners to adapt well to Korean culture. In addition, we expect local young people to practice public diplomacy on their own by providing opportunities for exchanges between college students living in Suwon and foreigners.

수원시국제교류센터는 2023년 9월 16일 토요일에 수원 거주 외국인들을 대상으로 제3회 수원시 외국인 지역이해 프로그램, 『우리는 수원in(人) - 화중지병(畵中之餠)』을 주최할 예정입니다.

프로그램 신청 참가자들은 수원전통문화회관에서 한국 명절(추석)에 대해 알아가고, 떡 빚기(꽃산병, 꼬리절편, 바람떡 등)와 전통놀이(딱지치기, 투호, 공기놀이, 제기차기)를 체험할 예정입니다.

다음과 같은 체험들을 통해 수원 거주 외국인들의 한국 명절 문화에 대한 이해도를 높이고, 외국인들이 한국 문화에 잘 적응하도록 적극적으로 지원하고자 합니다. 더불어 수원시 거주 대학생들과 외국인과의 교류 기회 제공을 통해 지역 청년들이 주체적으로 공공외교를 실천하는 효과를 기대하고 있습니다.
