The 53rd Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival is coming. What is Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival?
The Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival is one of the largest cultural and touristic festival in Korea, which celebrates the Suwon Citizen's Day every year in October. This event also honors the innovations of King Jeongjo, who built the Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.
The Festival features a variety of events to celebrate 220th anniversary of Hwaseong Fortress construction. The three-day festival from October 7-9 will be held around Hwaseong Fortress.
The main programs are 'opening/ closing ceremony', 'King Jeongjo's Royal Parade', 'Queen Hyegyeonggung Hong's 60th Birthday Banquet', and 'The night martial arts performance', 'Suwon Lanterns Festival'.
